Mr. Schuster specializes in the graphic design of concise, clear transit information that makes public transit as easy as possible to understand and use, as well as the design of creative, compelling transit branding and marketing campaigns.

With nearly 30 years of experience in transit graphic design, Rick Schuster is uniquely positioned to help transit agencies better communicate with their customers. His graphic design work has been recognized locally and nationally with several design awards, including multiple APTA Adwheel Awards, and an American Graphic Design Award.

Since founding THINK Graphic Design in 2006, Mr. Schuster has improved the customer-facing information for dozens of transit systems around the country, making their service easier for existing and new customers to understand and use. In addition to information design, transit agencies small to large have trusted THINK Graphic Design to create strong visual identities and to market and identify their transit systems.

Mr. Schuster has successfully designed transit system maps for large metro areas such as Mpls/St. Paul, and mid-size systems such as Marin Transit or Rochester, NY, down to smaller systems consisting of just a handful of routes. He also has experience designing hundreds of individual route maps and timetables, rider guide booklets, individual route brochures, wayfinding signage, vehicles, information kiosks and more.

Mr. Schuster earned a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Design, and a Bachelor of Architecture from North Dakota State University.

Elea Carey founded Transit Happy to serve public transit agencies nationwide with marketing and communications consultation. Transit Happy develops strategic marketing plans and implements marketing tactics and media buying.
