Andrea Breault
With eighteen years of comprehensive experience in transportation operations and planning, Andrea Breault has developed expertise in both the public and private sectors. Over the course of her career, Andrea has worked across a variety of transportation systems. Before joining the AMMA team, she was the Transportation Director of a central Oregon small public transit program. She began her transportation career contributing to the efficient and sustainable management of university shuttle and parking services, and fleet management. Specifically, Andrea served as Transportation Demand Management Supervisor for Princeton University, developing TDM programs to reduce traffic and emissions on campus; and then as Assistant Director of Parking and Transportation Services at Tufts University, where she managed parking operations and shuttle services throughout four campuses in Massachusetts.
Andrea spent six years as Transportation Director for Cascades East Transit (CET) in Bend, Oregon, where she oversaw a fleet of 85 vehicles, a team of 70 employees, and lead the team through the COVID-19 pandemic. Her focus was on improving CET’s demand response program, fixed-route transit, and grant management program. She led Cascades East Transit’s first Transit Master Plan and Mobility Hub Feasibility Study.
During this time, she helped design and implement innovative transit technology that cater to the needs of a wide range of communities, from urban areas to underserved regions. Her work in the public sector has focused on primarily meeting the needs of rural communities throughout Central Oregon, improving the customer experience, and ensuring sustainability through thoughtful planning and operations.
Her expertise is wide-ranging, built up from her experiences operating both private and public transportation services. These include fixed route and demand response services operational assessment and management, implementation of Federal and State requirement, implementation of transit technology, the operation of call center and dispatch facilities, and grant writing, among other related skills.
Recent AMMA projects in California for which Andrea has had lead responsibilities include development of a demand response service integration plan for Ventura County, project management for Coordinated Public Transit-Human Services Transportation Plans in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties, and an assessment of Imperial County Transit’s demand response programs to support its Short Range Transit Plan.
Andrea has a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from Rutgers University and a Bachelor of Science, Economics from the University of Dayton, Ohio.
